Fastnet Line new Swansea Cork Ferry
Saturday, October 10th, 2009The new ferry which will run between Cork and Swansea arrived in Cork Harbour at the end of September. This was an important day for tourism and commerce in the South West as it will re-open the gateway to the UK. The previous Swansea Cork ferry service was terminated in 2006 leaving the region high and dry. The new ferry is the initiative of a cooperative and has been dubbed “the peoples ferry“. Well done to all involved!
Glengarriff is one of the oldest tourist destinations in Ireland and access from the UK is key to the survival of many businesses. Support the ferry at http://www.fastnetline.co.uk/ The ferry will run from March 2010 between Swansea and Cork.

Glengarriff U21 Team Honoured
Thursday, June 18th, 2009Glengarriff U21 Team winners of the West Cork U21 football chmpionship were awarded the Buckley Financial ‘Team of the Month’ award for April 2009, becoming the first Beara team to do so as result of their involvement in a West Cork competition.
