The new ferry which will run between Cork and Swansea arrived in Cork Harbour at the end of September. This was an important day for tourism and commerce in the South West as it will re-open the gateway to the UK. The previous Swansea Cork ferry service was terminated in 2006 leaving the region high and dry. The new ferry is the initiative of a cooperative and has been dubbed “the peoples ferry“. Well done to all involved!
Glengarriff is one of the oldest tourist destinations in Ireland and access from the UK is key to the survival of many businesses. Support the ferry at https://www.fastnetline.co.uk/ The ferry will run from March 2010 between Swansea and Cork.
